About The Role

As MandM Direct continues to grow we need to increase our HR support service and therefore have created a new permanent HR Advisor position that will provide high-quality advice on all HR issues. Reporting directly to one of our HR Business Partners, the successful candidate will help to support the rest of the HR team based at our distribution centre to provide HR solutions, to support the team with large case loads, running and implementing projects and managing the day to day HR activities which, in turn will support the achievement of the business strategy.

 Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Recruitment and selection – including advertising; attending recruitment fairs; interview; selection
  • Providing sound HR advice to departments as required
  • The organisation and administration of leavers
  • Confirmation of probationary periods
  • Advising on discipline and grievance issues and ensuring correct procedures are followed
  • Providing advice on staff consultation
  • Being aware of current legislation and ensuring relevant policy changes are implemented
  • Absence management
  • Overseeing staff inductions
  • Overseeing the prevention of illegal workers
  • Managing the protection of young workers
  • Management of company benefits
  • Maintaining and updating departmental job descriptions
  • Assisting with the overall training programme for the company
  • Ensuring all maternity, paternity and parental leave is monitored and managed
Hours of work:  

Due to our distribution centre being a 24/7 service this role will require late shift hours between Monday and Friday. Working hours will vary between 12pm - 8pm or 3pm - 11pm, (options to be discussed further at interview stage)

Based at Moreton on Lugg Business Park, Hereford (Remote working is not available for this role)

  • Knowledgeable of employment law, ensuring company practice aligns with best practices.
