About The Role

MandM Direct has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Senior Technical Analyst, to join the Production Support Team. Appointment to senior role will be based on demonstrable experience, in addition to the core role requirement.

Reporting to the IT Operations Manager, you will work within a multi-disciplined Production Support Team, primarily responsible for the support, maintenance and development of internal and external infrastructure, in line with our technology roadmap. You will work with the latest infrastructure technologies both on premise and within the cloud. As new technologies are considered, you would assess their suitability for our business needs.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Working to a high standard following company procedures with all work being fully documented. 
  • Actively participating and contributing in Infrastructure Team meetings. 
  • Providing support to 1st and 2nd line engineers and training where necessary. 
  • Taking ownership and responsibility for diagnosing, solving and managing complex issues. 
  • Maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the server and core infrastructure.
  • Actively operating either as part of a group or on your own with new installations and large projects. 


Technical Competencies:

  • Collaborating with the IT Operations Team and the Head of Operations to define principles, standards, processes and working practises.
  • Ensuring that principles, standards, processes and working instructions are adhered to.
  • Ensuring all solutions can be supported, are minimal, documented and are within the scope of IT Infrastructure Architecture.

Hours of Work:
General office hours around flexi-time options, working 2 days per week at head office based in Herefordshire, and 3 days remotely.  

About You

To be considered you will require experience in: 

  • Active Directory design and support
  • Implementing and managing complex network
  • Windows 2003/8/12/16/19 Server administration/configuration 
  • Cloud computing - GCP, Azure, AWS
  • Installing and managing VMWare 6.5,6.7,7.0
  • Design and bau tasks
  • Management and implementation of WiFi networks. E.g. Cisco Meraki
  • Terminal Services 
  • DNS, DHCP design and support
  • Building and maintaining Linux / Unix (Centos, Redhat, HP-UX) 
  • Clustering and SAN/NAS storage support and maintenance
  • AD, advanced group policy and scripting
  • Advanced Scripting knowledge- Powershell, Batch file and/or VBS scripting for server automation - Terraform, Packer. Demonstrable improvements using scripts instead of manual actions
  • Management and support of SQL 2005/8/12/17 Server 
  • Apache and IIS
  • CDN, WAF, Bot management
  • Managing network switches: Dell, Cisco, HP
  • The management of firewalls and VPN’s (Juniper,Cisco ASA, PFSense, Palo Alto, Watchguard).
  • Secure web internet proxy
  • Secure email gateway including DMARC and EFD
  • Network security e.g. WAF, SIEM, IDS and IPS
  • Ivanti patch management
  • Identity management - Okta
  • Anti-Virus management
  • Google Workspace management
  • Managing security threats and vulnerabilities.

  • Solarwinds Network Monitoring
