About The Role

Do you love working with data and finding insights that help drive the performance of a business? We are looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Science Team. You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of datasets covering customer, ecommerce, finance, merchandising and operations. We work with some of the best modern tools in business information and analytics, which you’ll use to explore data, build dashboards and share insights across departments.

Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a suite of business reports using Excel, Google Analytics, SQL and Looker (spanning financial, web analytics, customer and product KPIs).
  • Performing ad-hoc project analysis and decision support across a wide variety of business projects spanning marketing, IT, operations and finance.
  • Being an expert on our data – continually search for valuable insights within the information that we store and pass these findings on to key stakeholders.
  • Promoting the use of data across the organisation, helping make smarter, data-driven decisions.
  • Working alongside other members of the Data Science team, sharing and adopting ideas and best practices.
  • Maintaining and optimise the structure of stored data to enable timely, accurate and automated business reporting.
  • Proactively and continuously improving processes, systems and documentation.

Hours of work:

Working general office hours, Monday to Friday with flexible working and partial remote working options available.

About You

To be considered you will need to demonstrate:
 
  • A passion for data, you will love turning large transactional datasets into meaningful commercial insights to solve pressing business challenges.
  • Robust analytical skills – able to spot trends and explain findings to a non-analytical audience.
  • An understanding of online retailing and the key KPIs that an online business needs to measure.
  • Experience with SQL and/or data stored in databases would be advantageous.
  • A naturally inquisitive, self-starter with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, project management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work to deadlines and be flexible to deal with changing business demands.
