About The Role

The Role:

We have a new opportunity within our IT team to work as a Developer. The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the UI elements of the website ensuring a consistently high level of quality. 

You will be involved with the technical design and will work within a front-end development team developing code and content, working alongside Business Analysts, technical leads, and testers to create and review stories and features including acceptance criteria. 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • To develop, following Mobile First web design principles
  • Create and maintain adaptive, future-friendly websites that utilise progressive enhancement and scalable UI elements
  • Interpret and follow visual design and branding guidelines to create a consistent and impactful user experience
  • Collaborate with QA Analysts to ensure cross-browser compatibility and cross-device testing is adhered to for any features developed
  • Improve the quality of web pages by auditing against performance, accessibility, SEO, and best practices. Administer adding, debugging, and deploying web analytics and marketing tags through a tag management tool to enable third-party tracking, analysis, and reporting
  • Create highly customised optimisations and personalisations within a multivariate testing tool
  • Perform peer reviews of code changes and adhere to IT Principles and Standards
  • Make sure that features developed are produced to the highest possible quality in the fastest possible time and no less
  • Certify that the Agile Software Development Life Cycle is followed. Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies
  • Enhance the website and identify any functional, technical, or performance problems providing suggestions for improvements and coding them.
 

Hours of Work: General office hours, working 5 days per week (hybrid 2 days per week onsite), between Monday and Friday. 

About You

 To be considered you will need:

  • Demonstrable expertise in developing websites using the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience using the following: HTML, HTML5, CSS pre-processors, CSS layout methods such as Flexbox and Grid, using and developing JavaScript, jQuery, and Angular.
  • Some experience working with .NET and C# and Web API’s.
  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and always think outside the box to achieve our vision
  • Analytical in approach, tenacious, and driven by results
  • Highly numerate and literate, with the ability to produce top-quality written specifications.
  • Proactive and highly organised, with strong time management and planning skills
  • Able to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
