About The Role

MandM Direct has a unique and exciting opportunity for a Junior Technical Analyst to support and enhance the core technical infrastructure, maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the server and core infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities
 
  • Actively participating and contributing in Infrastructure Team meetings 
  • Providing support to 1st and 2nd line engineers and training where necessary
  • Taking ownership and responsibility for diagnosing, solving and managing complex issues
  • Maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting the server and core infrastructure
  • Actively operating either as part of a group or on your own with new installations and large projects
  • Communicating clearly and effectively in written and verbal form with customers, colleagues and suppliers on all technical and non-technical levels. Communication is an absolute key to all roles within the company and to be able to think ahead and plan whilst keeping all stakeholders up to date and being mindful of any existing complexities in relationships therein
  • There will also be a requirement to join an out of hours on-call rota after successful probationary period has been completed.

Technical Competencies

  • Collaborating with the IT Operations Team and the Head of Operations to define principles, standards, processes and working practises
  • Ensuring that principles, standards, processes and working instructions are adhered to
  • Ensuring all solutions can be supported, are minimal, documented and are within the scope of IT Infrastructure Architecture.
Hours of Work:
 
General office hours around flexi-time options, working 2 days per week at head office based in Leominster, Herefordshire. 

About You

To be considered you will already need to have: 

  • You will be required to work independently, be resourceful and show particular attention to detail
  • Must have an aptitude to learn, develop and adapt as circumstances or technologies change
  • Flexible and enthusiastic self-starter with strong attention to detail and a drive to succeed
  • A good understanding of the technology components (application and infrastructure) utilised in an e-Commerce environment
  • Well presented with excellent communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload to meet company and departmental deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills, a problem solver, able to troubleshoot and work alone as well as within a team.
