We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a critical role in maintaining and evolving the infrastructure that supports one of Europe’s leading online off-price retailers. This is a high-level technical authority role, focused on building a secure, scalable, and resilient environment that enables innovation across the business.
80% of your time will be dedicated to strategic project delivery and infrastructure evolution, prioritizing long-term growth over day-to-day operational tasks. The Role Scope
As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will operate as a senior technical authority within Tech Operations. Your focus will be on ensuring our infrastructure remains secure, scalable and high-performing, while driving forward modernisation initiatives.
You’ll collaborate closely with the Infrastructure Team Lead and wider technology stakeholders, acting as a senior escalation point and contributing to best-in-class infrastructure standards across our enterprise environment.
Role key responsibilities:
✨ Infrastructure Strategy & Standards
Contribute to the definition of infrastructure principles and technical standards.
Ensure solutions align with architectural direction and long-term scalability.
Evaluate emerging technologies to support future capability.
✨ Project Delivery & Modernisation
Lead enterprise-scale infrastructure projects (500+ users).
Key Focus: Drive Lifecycle Management automation, particularly within the Okta and Microsoft stack.
Design and implement secure, resilient solutions across the environment.
✨ Operational Excellence
Act as a senior escalation point for complex 3rd line issues.
Support and deep-dive into network, server, identity and virtualisation environments.
Participate in a 1-in-5 week on-call rota for emergency hardware support.
✨ Technical Leadership
Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
Promote a "team-first" culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Create alignment across technical stakeholders.
