About The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager (Outbound) will be responsible for the day to day running a large team of all Outbound Operations, to include Stock Replenishment and Despatch teams.

Your day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include:

  •  Leading a team of Management and Supervision to meet performance and quality standards across the team
  • Resource planning staffing requirements on a daily basis to meet Service levels requirements in line with Forecasts
  • Developing the KPI system to maximise performance and ensure fairness across the workforce
  • Driving change within the departments in line with the company continuous improvements process and strategic plans
  • Developing the team members
  • Responsible for the day to day Health and Safety across the teams
  • Driving performance across all Outbound Activity
  • Responsible for creating, updating and adhering to SOP’s for all Outbound Process’s
  • Developing and executing training plans across all Outbound Process’s. 

About You

  • Previous experience in a senior management role across a retail distribution centre is essential. (preferably e-Commerce)
  • A proven track record of continuous improvement and delivering KPI’s across a distribution centre
  • To be results driven, have a measured and consistent approach, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues to deliver to the best of their ability
  • A track record of delivery with a methodical and structured approach, running an efficient and tightly managed operation whilst engendering a culture of openness where colleagues are encouraged to continually suggest improvements across the DC
  • To be experienced in the management and development of a large team ensuring their personal development needs are met whilst ensuring each individual team is meeting Company standards
  • A passion for delivering a best in class customer service experience across the distribution centre
  • The ability to drive productivity whilst maintaining quality of work and Health and Safety standards at all times
  • To create and maintain effective communication methods across the DC, ensuring information cascades to all team members
  • To develop and maintain a Health and Safety culture to ensure the well-being of all employees, customers and third party vendors, through constant monitoring, reviews of procedures and working closely to the Health and Safety Management Team
  • Excellent management, communication and organisational skills are essential.
